He has opened my wings,
and I'm free to fly –
Soaring over oceans of light
with the wind in my soul.
And he flies next to me,
as we move forward into our future.
Love is now defined in a new way,
and what I thought I knew,
was never true.
Subtle compromise in credulous form
with no obligations…
I no longer have to succumb to expectations.
He loves me for me,
and I have won without winning him over.
I didn't have to try,
as it came naturally –
the way it should be.
Love has never been more genuine.
